It wouldn't be a football game without cheerleaders and the HHS squad is getting ready for the big day next month. The dozen cheerleaders are spending this week perfecting their drills as they face both the start of the football and cheer competition seasons. "We are looking toward the first football game August 24 then we have our first cheerleading competition two weeks after that," sponsor Tracy Sonetag said. She said there will be a dozen cheerleaders on the sidelines this year. They gathered at the high school gym Monday morning to go over the routines and get assignments. When the cheerleaders walked into the school, they were greeted with a light breakfast as well as an assortment of gifts welcoming them to the start of the year. Also on tap will be the high school cheerleaders working with the grade school cheerleaders in a camp next week for some special routines.
