A new set of steps at the Territorial Museum have not even received a coat of paint before they were vandalized.
Museum officials discovered the broken balusters Thursday morning as they prepared to open the facility. A number of candy wrappers were strewn around the area leading them to believe that children or young teenagers were responsible.
The police have been called to investigate and museum officials are asking anyone who may have seen people sitting on the steps Wednesday night to contact officers.
