Henryettan Lindel Porter will be displaying his artistic talents Nov. 14 at the Territorial Museum.
lindel porterPorter, who graduated from HHS in 1962, started his artistic work after retiring from Tulsa Community College as professor and director of the respiratory therapy program.
Now he creates wildlife woodcarvings and paintings displaying them at a number of shows across Oklahoma including the prestigious Nature Works show in Tulsa. Along the way he has accumulated a number of awards not only in Oklahoma but also Texas and Arkansas.
His works emphasize realism in his subjects and has attracted a number of collectors around the US and in Europe.
Porter served in the Army following graduation then went on to get an undergraduate degree at Central State and did graduate study at the University of Oklahoma.
Specializing in the health sciences, he was an assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center  where he started a Program in Cardio Respiratory Technology.geese
Many years were spent there along with years of being the Administrative Director of Pulmonary Services at Baptist Medial Center in Oklahoma City. In 1977 he relocated to Tulsa Community College.
His works and Porter will be at the museum starting at 10 a.m.
