The grounds around Henryetta's hospital will be changing in the coming months.
After a meeting with the Henryetta Hospital Authority this month, Air Evac Lifeteam has announced a new air medical base will be opened here.
air evacThat will include construction of facilities at the hospital to handle the increased staff and equipment.
Groundbreaking is scheduled to start in January and, when completed, the new base will employ a program director, four full-time flight nurses, four full-time flight paramedics and four full-time pilots, along with a mechanic and a membership sales representative.
Air Evac President Seth Myers said those employees will be living in the Henryetta area.

 Mark Forest, Air Evac program director explained the company was founded in 1985 by some former military aviators. Now the company operates 123 aircraft nationwide in 15 states.
The Henryetta base will be the 14th for the company in Oklahoma.
Air Evac Lifeteam is the nation’s largest independently owned and operated air ambulance service, and its crews provide on-the-scene medical care, rapid medical transport, and transfers between medical facilities. An Air Evac Lifeteam crew, which includes a registered nurse, paramedic and pilot, is on call at each base 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
