There are going to be three elections across Okmulgee County in February.
Voters in Okmulgee, Beggs and Morris have a slate of candidates to choose from in school and city elections.
At the end of the three-day filing period, Beggs voters will be choosing between O.G. Corky Thompson and Leonard Moore, jr. Both are candidates for the Beggs school board seat 1.
Four candidates filed for the Morris school board office #1 spot. They include James Allred jr., Donna Payne, Kyle Brooks and Bobby Howell.
Okmulgee city voters have four people running for the city councilman at large position. Seeking election are: Steven R. Baldridge, James Wesley Kirby, Terry watkins and Eric L. Chapman.
Incumbent Henryetta school board member Brandi Brown was the only one filing for that spot.
In Preston, Kyamron Eugene Jefferson is the lone candidate for the school board post.
Incumbent David Dykes will be returning to his spot as the Green Country Technology Center board member.
At Dewar, Eric Carter was the lone candidate for school board.
In Schulter, John Rivera will be taking his spot on the school board, Travis Moore is an automatically elected Wilson school board member and Brian Costanza had no opposition for the Twin Hills school board office #3 spot.
The elections will be held Feb. 9. In the event no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the total votes cast, the two candidates with the highest number of votes will be in a run-off election April 5.
