The newest members of the Henryetta Economic Development Authority, Mellissa Heminover and Jim Beymer, officially took their seats Monday morning. The two were sworn in by city manager Ted Graham to start off the monthly meeting of the agency.
new hedaThat ceremony was followed by electing Keith Estes as chairman for the coming year. Jimm Francis was named as vice-chair.
Graham told the board that he has met with several companies showing an interest in Henryetta. Those meetings stemmed from the recent International Council of Shopping Centers convention in Dallas. Graham and Gary Clason attended the three-day event promoting the community.
While not revealing any company names, Graham said there is an interest in developing a travel plaza at the west exit on Interstate 40. There have also been discussions regarding the old Movie Gallery and O'Riley's bulildings.
