Everyone has heard about Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer but Henryetta Middle School had an array of multi-colored deer on hand this past week.
deer groupThe students in Christie Wells' art class had blue, red, black, green and even gold speckled reindeer adorning the hallways.
The "Tacky Taxidermy" idea was an end-of-term project that Wells thought would be more interesting than just a test. From the looks of the mounts on the wall, everyone put their creative brain cells to work and enjoyed it.
As a reward for their work, the students also created paper snowflakes that would provide nursing home residents with a taste of holiday cheer.
snowflakeStudents were busy making 94 of the nearly 18-inch wide snowflakes kept the youngsters busy with paper and scissors then, when they were finished, they were taken to Fountain View Manor and given to the residents for another touch of the Christmas season.
finished snowflakeThe projects were all wrapped up before the end of school Friday and now those deer heads are providing a touch of art at homes around Henryetta pairing with the more traditional Christmas trees and holiday decorations.
