Henryetta and Okmulgee County saw some patches of ice and freezing drizzle late Thursday night. That made for some tough driving, especially on bridges and overpasses.
Two vehicles fell victim to the slick roads north of Henryetta around 10 p.m. when they slid into the center median.
OHP Troopers were on hand to get the roadway cleared and reported no serious injuries.
That was not the case just before 10 on Interstate 40 west of Henryetta.
A 2012 Ford driven by Terry Amstutz, 57, when off the roadway and crashed into some trees near mile marker 227.
Trooper Tony Lemay said Amstutz, a resident of Stuttgart, Ark., was eastbound when his car went off the roadway to the left and struck the trees.
He was pinned in the vehicle for nearly an hour before members of the Okemah fire department were able to pry him out of his vehicle.
Weathermen are predicting periods of light freezing rain, freezing drizzle and freezing fog throughout the night into Thursday morning.
