School bond questions at Dewar and Wilson were overwhelmingly approved Tuesday as part of the annual school elections.
The two Dewar bonds totaled $310,000 received over 85 percent of the vote. Bond proposal 1 to repair roofs, buy a mower, school vehicle and football field watering system passed with 78 in favor and 13 against. Bond proposal 2 was for $170,000 and will be used to purchase school busses. It passed with 77 in favor and 13 opposed.
Wilson voters gave an 86-21 approval for a $290,000 bond issue. That included repairs, a new marquee in front of the school and construction of a football field and field house.
In other school districts, voters were choosing the person to sit on their school board.
At Morris, James Allred and Kyle Brooks received the lion's share of the votes but that was not enough to prevent a runoff election. Allred was the overall winner with 174 votes while Brooks had 139. The other two candidates, Bobby Howell, received 31 and Donna Payne picked up 53. That means there will be an April 5 runoff election.
Beggs voters picked Leonard Moore, jr., to set on the school board. He received 132 votes compared to 18 for OG Corky Thompson.
The lone city election for Okmulgee council member at large was won by Steven Baldridge. He received 491 votes, well ahead of challengers Terry Watkins with 215 and Erick Chapman with 52.
