Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz were the winners in Okmulgee County voting Tuesday.
sandersSanders defeated Hillary Clinton by only 15 votes, 1,882 to 1867. Cruz outdistanced Donald Trump with 1,176 votes to 970. Coming in third was Marco Rubio with 634 followed by Ben Carson with 22.
In the early voting, Clinton supporters held her in the lead both in absentee ballots as well as voting ahead of the Tuesday election. She had 121 votes while Sanders picked up 89.
That narrow lead by Sanders was not echoed statewide. He was declared the winner by a 12 percent margin before all 1,956 precincts across Oklahoma had reported their totals.
Cruz was also declared the winner over Trump by a 16,403 vote margin. Rubio held down third place with 74,534.cruz
In Okmulgee County, over half of the registered republicans, 3,107, turned out to vote while only 4,081 out of 11,285 registered democrats cast their ballots.
The rest of the votes on the democratic ticket went to: DeLa Fuente, 26, O'Malley, 143, Locke, 41, Steinberg, 52 and Judd, 70.
Republican still chose some of their favorites in the lesser ranks of the candidates. They included: Paul, 10, Fiorina, 4, Santorum, 2, Bush, 8, Christie, 3, Huckabee, 7, Graham 1 and Kasich, 66.
