Pauline Jene Howk, a former longtime resident of Henryetta, died Jan. 1, 2014 in Arlington, Tex., at the age of 83. Pauline was born April 27, 1930 in Henryetta to Harry T.K. Moore and Myrtle Lou Ingram Howk. Pauline grew up in the Henryetta area and attended Henryetta Public Schools.
Pauline married Harry Leon Howk. They remained married for 46 years until his death in 1993. Pauline worked for approximately 10 years as a line processor for Campbell Soup in Arkansas. She also worked for Tyson Foods for several years while in Arkansas.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husband Harry; both of her parents; four brothers, Henry Bill, Johnny and Loyd Moore; and five sisters, Nettie, Minnie, Edith, Myrtle, and Ruby.
She is survived by two sons: Harry Leon Howk and wife Judy of Meeker and Roger Howk and wife Sharon of Okemah; one daughter, Barbara Landon and husband Bob of Arlington, Tex.; six grandsons and five granddaughters; 10 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one brother, Charley Moore and wife Marilyn of Choctaw; five sisters, Betty Nunn of Killeen, Tex., Lilly Brooks of Henryetta, Edna Minyard of Sapulpa, Pat Vaughn and husband Carles of Okemah, and Shirly Bray and husband James of Webber Falls; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family and many good friends.
Viewing will be held on Monday at Integrity Funeral Service from 3 to 8 p.m. The family will meet guests at the funeral home Monday, January 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service for Pauline will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Hoffman Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
