Henryetta schools are going to be closed Monday and Tuesday because of the flu.
Superintendent Dwayne Noble said the decision was reached Friday morning after the number of sick students kept climbing this week.
There were 57 children in the Early Childhood Center, 100 in elementary, about 30 at Middle School and 47 at the high school absent Friday.
"This will give us time to make sure the classes and busses are disinfected and, with the students staying away from each other, the illness may be contained," he said.
Custodians have plans to set off disinfectant sprays throughout the buildings this weekend and will be sanitizing all surfaces.
Throughout the day Friday, parents were lined up at the elementary school picking up ailing children.
