David “Big Dave” Logan, age 81, of Rockwall, Tex., for two years, previously of Garland, Tex., and Okmulgee, died April 5, 2016. He was born Dec. 3, 1934, in Okmulgee to David Matthew and Lucille Jeanette (Cole) Logan. David served his country in the United States Navy Reserve and began his law enforcement career with the Henryetta Police Department. David then became an ATF Agent for the Treasury Department for 32 years. After retirement, he opened his own business, EPS/Countercom, specializing in technical surveillance counter measures. David was a man of service and serving people and served on the fire and water departments in College Mound, TX. He then became a Peace Officer from 1998-2002. HAt age 64, he went back to school and earned a paramedic certificate. He was a member of the NRA-ATFAR, the North Texas Narcotics Officers Association, the American Society for Industrial Security and the Rotary. He was a member of Lake Pointe Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years: Ann Logan; children: Debi Nixon and husband Randy, Jan Logan, Julie McLoughlin and husband Mike and Jennifer Buchanan; grandchildren: Robert Maxam, Leslie Maxam, Connor Nixon, Chase Richmond, Evan Crane, Lacey Crane, Taylor Bryan and husband Jake, Tyler McLoughlin, Brittany Buchanan and Bailey Buchanan; eleven great grandchildren; sister: Lucille Garrison and husband Bolar; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel with Pastor Greg Beauchamp officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike McLoughlin, Randy Nixon, Tyler McLoughlin, Connor Nixon, Keith Waddell, Bobby Kennedy and Robert Maxam. Honorary pallbears are Terry Ball, Barry Cauley, Fred Keen, Raymond Fogg, Loyd Cobb, Hank Levine and Bob McCool. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
