Samantha Stansifer will be spending the rest of her life in prison without the possibility of parole.
stansiferThat was the verdict handed down Friday morning nearly a year after she stabbed and mutilated Jim Anthony Hall in Henryetta.
The 20-year-old Stansifer was arrested in June 2015 the day Hall was killed at a home on West Dixie. She had pled guilty in the case.
When he read off the sentence, District Judge Mike Claver said he was showing her, "exactly the same mercy she showed to her victim, none."
"This murder was thought out by the defendant as evidenced by text message evidence from days before the murder wherein she told a friend she would either get him (Hall) put in jail or kill him," district attorney Rob Barris said. "She attacked Mr. Hall while he slept, stabbing him 58 times and slashing his throat to be sure he was dead."
There were 9-1-1 recordings the day of the murder from Stansifer to the Henryetta police department where she told the dispatcher, "I killed my boyfriend and now I can't kill myself."
"This cold-blooded, premeditated crime fully justified the punishment the court imposed. Nothing will ever bring Jim Anthony Hall back for his family or ease their pain and loss but at least a measure of justice to the fullest extent of the law has been attained for them”, said Barris.
