Honors, awards and scholarships put smiles on the faces of a lot of HHS seniors Thursday morning.
Over $100,000 in scholarships were presented to the graduating seniors during the annual awards assembly.
One of the largest, the $10,000 Troy Aikman award went to Riley Berry. He also received the Oklahoma Academic Scholar award, "Love of the Game" scholarship and one of the Alex Swyden award winners. sr boy girlMackenzie Roberts was the second "Love of the Game scholarship winners.
The Henryetta Education Foundation, established in 1998, presented Jamie Artussee with the Alex Swyden award, Nicolas Smith for the class of 1943, Addison Ellis, for the class of 1959, Ayla Delso for the HHS class of 1960 and Mykala Pak received the Derwood Clay scholarship.
Earning the Oklahoma Promise scholarship were: Kailee Bain, Riley Berry, Hannah Bowman, gage Goyd, Brianna Counts, Devin George, Alan Hargis, William Hudson, Kendall Perez, Steven Slade, Jessica Vanbrunt, Dalton Carnes, Amberlee Reid and Christa Stoy.
Named to Who's Who were: Mykala Pak for English, Eli Palmer in history, Riley Berry for math and Devin George for science.
The Outstanding 2016 senior class boy and girl were Alan Hargis and Brooke George.
