Spotty heavy rain failed to deter members of the Patriot Guard Riders of Oklahoma from honoring fellow Sooners heading to the Middle East.
convoyThe motorcyclists were an integral part of the convoy from Tulsa with members of the Oklahoma National Guard Alpha Company 777th Aviation Support Battalion.
The guardsmen were going on a year-long deployment overseas.
They were in a pair of chartered buses being led by Oklahoma Highway patrol cars. Along the way, police units in Okmulgee and Henryetta joined in the convoy. Several members of the Henryetta fire department temporarily blocked the intersection on East Main and US 75 to allow the convoy to proceed.
The troop will provide aviation support for Operation Enduring Freedom in the Middle East.
