What started out as a simple project to add a few names to the Doughboy plaque of honor has really grown.
According to project coordinator Bill Goodner, there are some 90 men from Henryetta and the immediate area whose names are not part of the existing plaque.

Goodner and his wife have been going through records and old newspaper files at the public library.
"There's a lot more than originally thought," he said. Those names are servicemen who were killed in action from World War One through the Middle East conflicts.
Goodner said it is going to cost around $4,650 to have a new plaque constructed bearing the original names and the additional ones.
"We are going to hold a golf tournament July 23 to help defray part of that cost," Goodner said.
The Doughboy Plaque Memorial golf tournament will be an 18-hole scramble with four-man teams participating. There is a $25 per player entry fee with food and prizes to be available after the tournament.
Winners will receive prizes based upon the participation.
Entry forms are available by contacting Goodner at 652-7103 (cell 510-1727) or Butch Glover at 652-8664.
