J.C. Mouser died July 17, 2016 in Dustin at the age of 89. He was born May 9, 1927 in Indianola to Rose Etta (Payne) Mouser and Amos Mouser. He married Betty Jo (Fife) March 19, 1949 in Van Buren, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Jo Mouser, three brothers and one sister.
He was a veteran of World War II. After retiring as a Medical Lab Technician, He owned and operated Sand Rock Petroleum for many years as well as running his own farm. He was one of the first farmers in Eastern Oklahoma to grow soy beans instead peanuts.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Choney and husband Chuck of Shawnee, and daughter, Denette Mouser of Bentonville, Ark.; brother, Hoyle Mouser and wife Lynn of Weleetka; sister, LaRue Mahoney of McAlester; three granddaughters: Jennifer Hopkins, Alysia Jones, and Brooke Kirchner; great grandchildren: Taylor Edmonds, Mackenzie Johnson, Cainan Nelson, Jordan White, Tre Davis, Jacob Jones, and Kennedy Kirchner; one great-great granddaughter, Chesney Edmonds. as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
