Della Louise Fixico, Okemah, died July 18, 2016 in Okemah at the age of 64. She was born Nov. 29, 1951 in Henryetta to Lewis Simpson and Sonia (Harjo) Simpson.
Mrs. Fixico was a previous resident of Hanna and Wetumka and a longtime resident of Okemah. She worked as a seamstress with the Pharoah Sewing Factory and also as a nurse’s aide. She is also a member of the Trenton Baptist Church of Hanna, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charlie Harjo and one sister, Virginia Tiger.
She is survived by her husband Richard D. Fixico, Sr. of Okemah; one son, Richard Fixico, Jr. and wife Angela of Bristow; one brother, Kenneth Scott and wife Jean of Okmulgee; one sister, Lucy Lowe and husband Amos of Hanna and three grandchildren, Tyler Killingsworth, Chelsea Fixico and Tafv Fixico.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Mose Lowe, Chris Fixico, Matthew Fixico, Myron Fixico Sr., B.J. Fixico and Phillip Harjo.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Killingsworth, Amos Lowe, Richard Fixico Jr., Benny Fixico Sr. and Manuel Fixico.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Prairie Spring Baptist church in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Prairie Spring Cemetery.
A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, July 21 , from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah and Wake Services will be held Friday evening at the Prairie Spring Baptist Church.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Rev. Richard Fixico and Bro. Billy Coon.
