hathcoatChristopher Hathcoat was arrested Saturday morning ending a day-long manhunt.
Hathcoat was captured in Cherokee County without incident after a break-in attempt at a church in Sequoyah State Park.
He was being sought in the murder of his father, Floyd Andrew Hathcoat, near Tiger Mountain Friday.
Even though he was arrested by a park ranger Friday night on the burglary charge, Hathcoat was not initially arrested for the murder of his father.
The ranger caught Hathcoat breaking into a church on park property. The ranger also determined Hathcoat had a felony warrant for failure to appear and discovered the truck he was driving, a red 2001 Dodge, was stolen from his father, one of the murder victims. Hathcoat was booked into the Cherokee County jail. Friday afternoon.
The state medical examiner will perform an autopsy on Floyd Hathcoat and another man whose body was also found in the house to confirm the cause of death. Currently, OSBI special agents are not searching for anyone else believed to be involved in the homicides.
