Former Henryettan Michael Crawford is going to be a member of the 2016 Oklahoma Hall of Fame for City and Town officials.
Crawford, a certified public accountant, is chairman of Crawford and Associates in Oklahoma City.
Mike Crawford Professional PictureHe graduated from Henryetta high school in 1973 and is the son of Virginia Crawford and the late Frank Crawford.
He will be one of six officials inducted into the Hall of Fame Sept. 15. Ceremonies will take place at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City in conjunction with the Annual Conference Banquet for the Oklahoma Municipal League.
Crawford has over 38 years of experience working in the practice area of state and local government accounting, auditing and consulting. He is currently retired from active practice with the firm, but continues to serve as a consultant and advisor to the firm and its clients and as an author and frequent public speaker.
He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from East Central University in Ada in 1977, served as Director of Finance for the City of Edmond and also worked with governmental entities as an auditor and consultant with the international accounting firm KPMG (Peat Marwick) before establishing Crawford and Associates in 1984.
In 2000, Mike was inducted into the Oklahoma Accounting Hall of Fame in recognition of his accomplishments and faithful dedication to the accounting profession.
Formed in 1999, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for City and Town Officials Foundation recognizes individuals for outstanding achievements or contributions to city and town government.  To be selected, an honoree must make significant contributions to Oklahoma local government, through their positive spirit of public service, with unquestioned ethics.
Crawford is the first from Henryetta to receive the honor. There have been 49 already named to the Hall of Fame.
