Traffic will be warned to slow down on a stretch of Eighth Street north of Warren Road.
Tuesday night city council members approved dropping the speed limit from 35 to 25 miles per hour.

New speed signs will be posted for both north- and south-bound traffic in the coming weeks.
goodner councilBill Goodner told the council the fund-raising effort for new plaques honoring area servicemen killed in action has been completed with $6,009 deposited into a special account through the Henryetta chamber of commerce.
"We stopped sooner due to the generosity of the citizens," Goodner said. He pointed out the plaques will bear the names of some 168 servicemen killed in action from World War I through the battles in the Middle East.
"The cost of the plaques is about $2,700," he said. They will be ordered the week after Labor Day then we will have an unveiling on Veterans Day."
He said anyone wishing to make corrections on the names to contact him between now and Labor Day.
Goodner told the council that repairs to the doughboy statue may be easier than originally believed. "I found out the statue is sheet copper and not bronze. That will make repairs a simple process."
Goodner said monies left over after the plaques and doughboy repairs can be used to enhance the veterans park located to the east of the library.
He also pointed out that another worthwhile project could be straightening the head stones in the veterans' section at the cemetery.
