Brenda Lee Bible, the executive director of the Henryetta Housing Authority, was arrested Monday on charges of embezzlement by employee.
According to investigators for the District Attorney's office, Bible is accused of writing checks and making charges by credit card amounting to $56,267.74.
Those credit card purchases were alleged to have started in March, 2011 and continued until April, 2016. She is also accused of writing two checks to herself, one for $3,000 and the other for $1,500.
She was taken into custody by DA investigator deputy Amy McGuire and booked into the Okmulgee County jail. The investigation into the incident started Aug. 4 and included interviews with Bible and two other employees.
Bible has been serving as executive director for over ten years. According to board member Aaron Graffman, Carla Hall has been appointed as interim executive director. She had been serving as Section 8 administrator.
