Brian Lee Harjo, a resident of Shawnee and former resident of Hanna  died Sept. 9, 2016 in Shawnee at the age of 33. Brian was born May 15, 1983 in Tahlequah to Jack Holmes and Janetta Harjo.
Brian grew up in Hanna and attended Hanna Public Schools. After high school, Brian moved to Stillwater for several years. He also lived in Oklahoma City and Ft. Smith, Arkansas. The last several years Brian had been living in Shawnee and worked as a metal worker there.
Brian is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Nancy Harjo; by four uncles, Daniel Harjo, Lewis Harjo, Woody Harjo, and Alex Harjo; and two aunts, Kizzie Cook and Colene Harjo.
He is survived by his mother, Janetta Harjo of Shawnee; two brothers, Marcus Harjo of Shawnee and Michael Tiger of Okmulgee; a nephew, Kendal Tiger of Okmulgee; by several aunts and uncles, other extended family and many good friends.
Viewing for Brian will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from noon to 4 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 E. Trudgeon in Henryetta.
A wake service for Brian will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the Hanna Indian Community Center in Hanna.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Hanna Indian Community Center with Rev. Chebon Kernel officiating. Interment will follow immediately at the Harjo Family Cemetery, two miles east of Hanna on Countryside Road, under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Justin Bruner, Jack Harjo, Kendal Tiger, Mike Irwin, Vinnie Harjo, and Coachie Harjo. Honorary bearers will be cousins of Brian Harjo.
