A pair of state questions will be on the ballot at the Nov. 8 general election.
The first, SQ 777, deals with farming in the state and would be an addition to the state constitution.
In effect is is designed to limit the legislature's ability to interfere with some agricultural practices.
The second, SQ 779, would add a one-cent sales tax to all purchases statewide.
Funds generated from that tax would be used to fund education.
Both questions were discussed Tuesday night at the Okmulgee County republican party meeting.
Gage Milliman, Oklahoma Farm Bureau representative told the group about the proposed benefits of SQ 777.
Oklahoma Educaiton Association representative Stacy Bullard presented the proponents' arguments for SQ 779.
According to republican party chair Marshella Prior, opponents of both issues will be at the October meeting.
