Alysha Ann (Carter) Pennington, a resident of Haskell, died Sept. 24, 2016 in Haskell at the age of 41. Alysha was born July 10, 1975 in Tulsa to Mike Carter and Mary Hamilton.
She grew up living in Broken Arrow, Coweta, and Tulsa. She graduated from Tulsa's East Central High School with the class of 1994. Following high school, Alysha attended Platt College in Tulsa where she graduated with an Associate Degree, specializing in the medical field. Alysha worked in several capacities in the medical field, and most recently was employed by Pediatric Cardiology of Tulsa. Alysha married the love of her life, Joshua Duane Pennington in Weleetka June 5, 2004 and she remained married for 14 happy years until her death.
Alysha is preceded in death by her grandmother, Quannah Carter; her grandmother, Patsy Joanne Walker Lamho; her step-grandfather, Wallace "Wiki" Lamho; her father, Mike Carter; her brother, Michael Carter; her son, Matthew Eick; and an aunt, Vickie Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Josh Pennington of the home; two daughters: Kaylen Eick and Hailey Pennington, both of the home; her mother, Mary Hamilton Fields and husband Ira of Tulsa; a sister, Michele Carter of Virginia; a brother, Dwayne Carter of Wagoner; by several nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, other extended family and many good friends.
Viewing for Alysha will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 from noon until 8 p.m. and Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 8 until 11 a.m.
A funeral service for Alysha will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Abundant Life Pentecostal Holilness Church in Henryetta with Rev. Suzie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Massey, Chase Carter, Cole Clemons, Daniel Boyington, Taylor Wilson, and Tristen Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ira Fields, Garland Pennington, Steve Carter, Stephen McGuire, and Mickey Snelson.
