Wind-whipped flames ripped across nearly 200 acres of grassland Friday afternoon just southwest of Schulter.
The fire started along Conifer Road and spread into dry pastures threatening a number of barns and homes in the area.
Several horses were trapped in their pens but were able to be rescued before they could be injured by the fire.

The blaze took firemen from Henryetta, Schulter, Dewar and Wilson several hours to contain. They were hampered by a strong wind out of the west that had gusts sometimes approving 15 miles an hour.
No cause of the blaze has been determined as yet.
Henryetta fire chief David Bullard said this fire is a perfect example of how quickly blazes can get out of hand.
"We have extremely dry grass all around the area. Put that with any kind of wind and the lower humidity we have had the past few days and that is a perfect set up for a wildfire."
