Each month Staci Alsover gets forms nominating local homes for Yard of The Month. This month things changed. Instead of a form, she received a petition signed by several neighbors requesting the Jim Boren home on North Fifth get the honor. The petition request was granted and Alsover, along with Tara Matthews placed the travelling sign in the yard. Nominations are now open for the October recognition. "We encourage local residents to keep their eyes open as they drive around town," Alsover said. "If a yard is dressed up for Halloween, we especially want to recognize them. The nominations should be sent to Alsover at First Family Federal Credit Union.
