Around 15 pounds of marijuana worth some $35,000 is off the street following a seizure on I-40 Sunday evening.
drug 1Okmulgee County deputy Ethan Mulkey stopped a van for a traffic violation Sunday evening. The vehicle was said to be en route from Oakland, Calif., to Memphis, Tenn.
He said he saw a dog kenneled in a rear seat that had apparently not been fed or watered for some time.
That led to an investigation of the van where the marijuana was discovered.drug 2
Deontray Chainley, 29, and Jared Rockenback, 23, both of California, were arrested and booked into the Okmulgee County jail on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent and animal neglect. Chainley was also charged with driving under suspension.
The dog was taken to the Henryetta animal pound.
