Saturday is going to be a busy day in Henryetta.
The day is going to start off at 11 a.m. with the annual Elementary School Fall Carnival.
Set at the grade school parking lot, the carnival will include game booths and activities for youngsters and their families. Individual tickets are $1 each while bracelets will be sold for $10.
Starting at 6, the fall Cruise Knight will be held with sharp looking autos, pickups and motorcycles showing off and dragging Main.
The burnout contest, a fan favorite for the past three years, will start at 6 p.m. next to O’Reilley’s on East Main.
Contestants will be paying $5 to rev up their motors and send clouds of smoke billowing into the air. Prizes will be given to the top burnout performers.
On Main Street from Third to Sixth streets, the outside lanes are going to be blocked off for auto buffs to park and show off their prize rides.
That part of Cruise Knight has been highlighted with sharp looking cars and trucks ranging from rat rods to muscle cars. Hoods will be raised giving admirers an opportunity to speculate on the horsepower output and the time spent on each vehicle.
Youngsters will also have some fun available with bounce houses set up on Sixth Street.
The sidewalk throughout downtown will include a number of vendors including the M/W Barrel Train, Mona Rose of Sharon, Newman’s Firehouse BBQ, C&S Charming Cuffs, McIntosh Tumbling, Copper Cross Ministry, Brennon’s Rescues, Henryetta Lions Club, My Quilted Heart/The Rustic Squirrel, Henryetta Cheer Boosters and Henryetta Nazarene Church.
Several stores including The Shack & Co., Main Street Sweets and Annika’s Finds will be open for shoppers tired of looking at cars.
