Henryetta’s cross country runners had to settle for 12th place at the state championship Saturday.
HHS senior Mya Powders posted a 13:48 time that put her in 39th place. Winning the state 3200 meter title was Barbara Johnson from heaven with an 11:54.81. She just edged out Mandy Sykora for the win. From Marietta, Sykora finished with a time of 11:54.34.
Adding to the Henryetta points were Kaitlyn Clark 43rd, Holly Stuart 63rd, Ashlyn Green 127th and Emma Kranz 156th.
Keaton Lollis, a freshman runner for the Knights came in 97th in the 5K run. The 3A boys title went to Marietta’s Zane Nutter with a time of 16:55.91.
