Okmulgee County voters mirrored the rest of the state voting for Donald Trump as president.
A total of 13,924 ballots were cast Tuesday in one of the largest voter turnouts in years.
trumpTrump received 8,926 votes while democrat Hillary Clinton picked up 4,379. The libertarian party candidate, Gary Johnson, received 619.
The state representative race for district 16 between Scott Fetgatter and Ronnie Kell bounced back and forth during the evening.
Fetgatter failed to corner the Okmulgee County vote with Kell getting 4,510 compared to 4,107. The district saw Fetgatter named the winner with 2,132 votes in Wagoner County and 147 in Tulsa county. Overall, he received 7,094 votes while Kell picked up 6,099.scott fetgatter
County voters approved state question 776 dealing with the death penalty as well as SQ 780 on drug laws and SQ 781 providing funding for justice reform.
Not getting approval was the Right to Farm question with 8,238 voting against and 5,537 giving approval.
The question over adding a penny sales tax for teacher raises also was defeated. There were 8,136 votes against it and 5,608 cast for the question.
SQ 790 covering use of state money for religious benefit also took a hit. A total of 7,623 votes were cast against it while ,966 gave approval.
The question of strong beer and wine sales did get county approval with 8,523 voting for and 5,196 against.
James Lankford won approval from Okmulgee County voters for his US Senatorial seat. He had 8,918 votes while democrat challenger Mike Workman received 4,059.
Markwayne Mullin was a two to one favorite for his congressional position. He had 9,022 votes in the county compared with 4,090 for Joshua Harris-Till.
