A 25-year-old Henryetta man was arrested following an attempted armed robbery at the Coalton Feed Store Tuesday.
Cody SmallwoodAccording to Okmulgee County Sheriff investigator Duston Todd, Cody Smallwood has been charged with the attempted theft.
Todd said Smallwood allegedly pointed a gun at a store employee and demanded money. “As the suspect attempted to enter the store, the employee and Smallwood struggled and the store employee was able to shut the door causing the suspect to leave,” said Todd.
Smallwood was tracked back to a home in Henryetta and found trying to hide in a creek bed next to the house. The arrest came within two hours of the initial offense.
He was booked into the county jail on complaints of armed robbery, feloniously pointing a firearm and convicted felon in possession a firearm.
A second arrest was also made at that time when Mandy Kelley, 33, Henryetta, was apprehended for several charges.Mandy Kelley
Todd said she was taken into custody on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm while on probation and an outstanding warrant for second degree burglary.
Bond has not been set for either Kelly or Smallwood.
