Patsy H. Spurlock, a lifetime resident of the Dewar and Henryetta area, was born Jan. 22, 1929 in Henryetta to Charles Henry Friend and Willie Mae (Lumpkin) Friend. She died Dec. 4, 2016 in Tulsa at the age of 87. Patsy was a graduate of Dewar High School Class of 1946. She married Billy Jack Spurlock on May 11, 1946. She was a member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church. She worked at various jobs including P.W. Manufacturing alongside dear friends Judy Allen Wainwright and Maxine Vance.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Willie Mae Friend, two brothers, Earnie Friend and wife Paulette, and Floyd Friend and wife Doris, two sisters, Jannie Bell Watteau and Mary Alice Walker, great grandchild, Bella Ray Davidson. Also preceding her in death, a very special uncle, Walter O. “Peck” Lumpkin, one aunt, Susie Bell Owen, a brother-in-law, Lloyd Morris, also by two nephews, Billy Charles “Buddy” Compton and Mark Allen Compton.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 70 years, Billy Jack Spurlock, Sr. of the home; four children: Billy Jack Spurlock, Jr. and wife Judy of Dewar, Danne Joe Spurlock and wife Linda of Henryetta, Barbara Ann Whitaker and husband Johnny of Morris and Jimmy Dale Spurlock and wife Janice of Henryetta; seven grandchildren: Bradley Spurlock and wife Jeanda of Henryetta; Brian Spurlock of Dewar, Chad Spurlock and wife Andrea of Okmulgee, Amy Whitaker of Morris, Amber Davidson and husband Mark of Moore, Rebecca Morris and husband Kyle of Dewar and Tina Brittenham and husband Josh of Henryetta;
13 great-grandchildren; Wesley Spurlock, Kelsey Spurlock, Addison Spurlock, Kaley Crawford, Dustin Crawford, Lincoln Friestedt, Bryton Morris, Braxton Spurlock, Lucy Quinn Davidson, Jameson Wade Brittenham, Molly Kate Davidson, Brynlee Morris,
and Avery Grace Spurlock; three sisters: Ruth Travis of Okemah, Dedee Morris of Flower Mound, Tex., and Donna Quick and husband Gary of Okmulgee; brother-in-law, Richard Walker and wife Lois of Okmulgee; also by two very special friends that she loved like her own, Judy Wainright and  husband Tom of Henryetta;; Sharon Vincent and husband Jimmy of Henryetta; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives and her beloved church family.
Viewing will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Thursday 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2016 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Sister Judy Wainwright, Rev. Gregg Joki and Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
