Okmulgee police are looking for help from the public to find a man that shot an Okmulgee resident Friday morning.
According to police chief Joe Prentice, around 9 a.m. police were called to a home about a home invasion and shooting.
He said a person told them a white mail forced his way into the home then shots were fired. When officers arrived, they found three men inside the house, one of which had been shot in the leg.
The victim said someone had knocked on the door and, when it was opened, a masked individual came into the house with a handgun. “Once inside, the man demanded money and shot one of the occupants,” Prentice said. The suspect left the house and drove north on Central Street in a silver colored SUV. The police chief said there was no tag information.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Okmulgee Police at 918-756-3511.
