The Henryetta elementary wrestling program may only be a few months old but it is making people take notice.
This past weekend, the young Knights captured honors from first through fourth place at the Battle for the Belt contest in Tulsa.
Five wrestlers came away with gold belts for their first place wins. They included: Taylor Hamric 85 pounds, Nevin Corbin 96 pounds, Issac McNac 140 pounds, Weston Wincle 160 pounds and Hunter Sweart heavyweight.
Another seven Henryetta wrestlers placed second in their divisions including Hunter Govin 85 pounds, Cash Faulkner 73 pounds, Wyatt Coy 100 pounds, Tayzon Cummings 120 pounds, Conner Bullard 98 pounds, Ethan Wincle 175 pounds and Tieler Cummings heavyweight.
James Whitney, Henryetta’s division 3 heavyweight placed third while Braxton England, Jordyn Miller, Tayzen Cummings and Tucker Watson all were fourth place winners.
The Henryettans also brought home a pair of first place championship plaques for both division three and four.
