Groundbreaking will be held Friday for the East Central Oklahoma Family Health Center (ECOFHC) to be built in Henryetta.
Set at 2 p.m. at the Shurden-Leist Industrial Park, the event will mark the start of construction for the eventual 5,600 square-foot medical facility.
ECOFHC director Donna Dyer said the new facility will contain medical and dental facilities under one roof. Currently the Wetumka-based organization operates a medical office on West main and dental office on South Fifth streets. When completed, around 30 people will be working in the new building.
A $1 million grant from the federal government was awarded to ECOFHC last year enabling the construction to start.
Dyer had sought the same funds a year earlier but the government did not make any federal money available throughout the entire state.
Following the groundbreaking at the site, a reception will be held at the Henryetta city hall.
