UPDATE: Friday morning Paige Johnson withdrew from the Henryetta council member at large race.

All three open seats on the Henryetta city council are being contested.
Following the close of the filing period Wednesday, seven people have announced their candidacy.
The Councilmember At Large spot has gained the most attention with Bill Goodner, Robert Patterson, Paige Johnson and Philip Siberts all announcing their desire to be elected. Goodner and Siberts have both served on the Henryetta city council. Patterson had been mayor at Morris some years back.
The Ward 3 spot has incumbent Janna Duggan running against challenger Ronald Lee while incumbent Jennifer Clason is facing Buck Sheward for the Ward 4 post.
City elections will be held April 4.
Dewar will not have an election after one candidate each filed for the three open posts. They include Tony Polk for Ward 4, Gary McGowin for Ward 4 and Kevin Westmoreland in Ward 5.
At Morris, there will be a city council election for the Ward 3, Seat B post. Jeremy James Avery and Kathy Stricker have each filed for that job.
Receiving no opposition in Morris were Jess Wayne Payne, Ward 1 Seat A, Lloyd Lang, Ward 1 Seat B and Rojer Bear Johnson for Ward 2.
Beggs voters will have to pick a mayor from the three candidates filing for that spot. They include Cathy Murphy, O.G. Thompson and Kathryn Bell.
Jerry Bivins will take the ward 3 spot unopposed as will Chris Gore for the Ward 1 seat.
