Margaret Ann Hammack, a longtime resident of Dewar, died Feb. 13, 2017 in Frederick, Okla., at the age of 92. She was born Dec. 29, 1924 in Dewar to Herbert Walker and Rachel (Guynn) Walker.
She married Johnny Orville Hammack January 15, 1943 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church. She received her cosmetology license in 1962 and owned and operated the Beauty Box in Henryetta for 25 years. She was very active in the Dewar United Pentecostal Church for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Johnny Hammack after 55 years of marriage, two sons, Guynn Hammack and Dewayne Hammack, her parents, Herbert and Rachel Walker, a brother, John T. (Bud) Walker, and multiple nieces and nephews.
She is survived by one son: Dennis Hammack and wife Lynn of Frederick; sister: Lawana Trundle and her son Rocky Trundle of Ponca City; two daughters-in-law: Ann Hammack of Tulsa and Linda Hammack of Dewar; sister-in-law: Thelma Lee Walker; 7 grandchildren: Beth Hammack, Michelle Hammack, LeeAnn Roth, John Hammack, Michael Hammack, Alexa Hammack, and Jerl Hammack; 13 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives and her beloved church family.
Pallbearers will be Turner Hammack, John Hammack, Michael Hammack, Jerl Hammack, Jeremy Burrow, and Roger Roth. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Wayne Pulliam, Wylie Wisman, Dee Tabor, Bill Spurlock, Bill Williams and Rocky Trundle.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin and Rev. Gregg Joki officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
