Emily Violet Morris, a longtime resident of Henryetta, died Feb. 21, 2017 in Okemah at the age of 76. Emily was born Sept. 13, 1940 in Henryetta to Harley Wilford Vancil and Dora Lillian (Boyd) Vancil.
Emily grew up in Henryetta, where she attended St. Michael Catholic School, Shortly after high school, Emily married James Buddy Morris in Texas. Emily was a hairdresser by trade and owned and operated Emily's Beauty Shop in Weleetka for approximately 10 years. She later worked in several Oklahoma City area beauty shops including Malihini's Beauty Shop in Oklahoma City where she served as manager for over 15 years.
Emily was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution organization and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Henryetta.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; a grandmother, Sally Green; and a grandchild, Stephanie Taber.
Emily is survived by two daughters: Cheri Hare and Beverly Ogden, both of Henryetta; ive grandchildren: Mike Morris, Chad Hare, William Hare, Shannon Dillon, and Shelby Ogden; eight great grandchildren: Zaelon Hare, Kaeson Hare, Bretton Hare, Noah Hare, Eli Hare, Wade Hare, Makayla Morton, and Waylon Dillon; two brothers: William "Bill" Leon Boothman of Ft. Smith, Ark., and  Harley "Skip" Vancil; sister, Glenda Jean Rolan of Oklahoma City; other extended family and many good friends.
Viewing will be held Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Integrity Funeral Service from noon until 5 p.m. A wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta with Fr. Peter Phung officiating.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Phung officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
