Reuben Starr, a resident of Eufaula, died Feb. 22, 2017 in Eufaula at the age of 65. Reuben was born April 9, 1951 in Oklahoma City to Wilbur Starr and Mattie Pope Starr.
Reuben grew up in the Henryetta and Bryant area. He attended Henryetta Public Schools and graduated from Henryetta High School. Following high school, Reuben attended college at Okmulgee Tech where he studied accounting. Reuben began working at the PPG Glass plant and worked there until its closure in 1974. He moved to Wichita Falls, Tex.,and continued to work with PPG there until the early 1980's. He later moved to Wetumka and commuted to work at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City. Reuben subsequently went to work for Tulsa Bingo, which later became River Spirit Casino, where he worked as a casino manager until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his mother and his father; a brother, Raymond Starr; brother, Robert Fields.
Reuben is survived by his wife, Frances Lewis of the home; a daughter, Meleigha Starr of the home; a son, Siah Starr, of the home; daughters: Nancy Monock and husband Ted of Virginia, Patsy Starr and Phillip Wilson of Wichita Falls, Rebecca Starr Hicks and husband Hixton of Wetumka, Ruby Starr and James Harjo of Glenpool, and Paulette "Bubba" Starr of Wichita Falls; a son, Mose Lewis of the Wilson community; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three sisters: Ramona Ward and husband Alfred of Dallas, Robin Starr of Wewoka, and Regana Sellers and husband Tony of Red Oak, Tex.; two brothers: Robert Starr, Sr of Eufaula and Richard Starr and wife Debra of Dallas; numerous cousins and other extended family; and many good friends.
Viewing will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017 from noon to 4 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
A wake service will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hickory Ground #2 church.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hickory Ground #2 Church with Rev. Ernest Best, Rev. Sidney Lee, and Rev. Woody Fields officiating.
Interment will follow immediately at Lewis Family Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.

Pallbearers will be Tuffy Roberts, Jackson Lowe, Austin Asbury, Sam Lewis, Mose Lewis, and Ramsey Harjo. Honorary bearers will be Hillis Manley and the grandsons of Reuben Starr.
