Cory Gene Fish has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Joshua Pascale.
cory fishFish was arrested in December, 2015 by members of the District 25 Violent Crime Task Force.
Pascale had been missing since Nov. 21 after he was seen getting into a car on the west side of Okmulgee.
A few days later Task Force members found burned human remains later identified as Pascale.
Fish was arrested on drug charges and, according to Okmulgee police chief Joe Prentice, confessed to the murder.
District attorney Rob Barris said the life imprisonment sentence requires Fish to serve some 38 years before he would be eligible for parole.
Fish had also been on probation for prior drug possession charges. That was revoked. In addition, he pled guilty to possession of drugs in jail. He will be serving ten years on those charges which will run consecutively to the life sentence.
“This case began as a missing person,” said Barris. “As a direct result of the dedicated efforts of Okmulgee police and District violent Crime Task Force, we were able to find parts of Mr. Pascale’s body in two separate locations both connected to the defendant.”
