The Memorial holiday weekend was anything but enjoyable for several people in Henryetta as they found themselves on the wrong side of the law.
police carPolice chief Steve Norman said officers made ten arrests during the three-day holiday.
Those ranged from larceny to possession of methamphetamine.
“Nearly 15 grams of Meth were seized during a traffic stop Friday night,” Norman said. Those individuals are still being investigated for other crimes.
Officers were called to investigate two separate cases of shoplifting and have some suspects in those cases.
"The level of activity for officers always starts to increase as the warmer weather sets in" Chief Steve Norman said. "Officers will be focusing on the neighborhoods hard this summer and will be contacting people found walking during the overnight hours."
He urged everyone to keep an eye on their neighbor’s homes and properties and call the police department if they see anything suspicious.
Officers are also going to be cracking down on motorists speeding on US 75 as well as anyone running the stop lights on East Trudgeon.
“We have had several accidents there from people trying to beat the lights or running through red lights entirely. So far we have not had any fatalities but we want to keep everyone safe.”
