Two Okmulgee men are being treated for gunshot wounds following an early Tuesday morning incident.
According to Okmulgee police chief Joe Prentice, officers were called about gunshots in the Lafayette and Miami streets area around 1 a.m. When they arrived, they found Antonio Thierry who had been shot several times. A short time later the Okmulgee hospital notified officers that Darius McGee, 21, had arrived needing treatment for gunshot wounds.
Both were taken to Tulsa hospitals for treatment.
Thierry, 32, is said to be a material witness in an April double homicide in Okmulgee. That resulted in the arrests of brothers Isaiah and Victor Wilson. They are alleged to have shot and killed Anthony Cooks and Corey Todd. A third victim, Donte Todd was hospitalized after sustaining four gunshot wounds. He also had both legs broken.
Chief Prentice said the investigation is ongoing and did not give any theories for a motive behind the latest shootings.
He did say anyone with information should call the Okmulgee police department at 918-756-3511.
