The Okmulgee County sheriff's department is waiting for the Oklahoma Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death of a woman found behind the Trail Motel west of Henryetta.
According to other sources, the body of a woman was discovered around 3 p.m. Saturday.
Those sources say the woman's body was in an advanced state of decomposition and had apparently been lying among several large piles of asphalt for a number of weeks.

Because the body was lying in a low spot among the piles of asphalt it was apparently hidden from view from both Interstate 40 traffic and anyone walking along a path behind the motel.
Sheriff's deputies were called to investigate because the location was just outside the Henryetta city limits.
One source not connected with the investigation told Thehenryettan.com that the woman was believed to have been staying with another person at the motel. She was alleged to have left in January and the disappearance never reported to authorities.
