We are all One Degree from someone with cancer, whether it's a friend, a relative, a co-worker ‚Äì or we've fought the disease ourselves. My One Degree is my Father-in-law.  My husband best friend, business
partner, my second Dad.  He is was taken from us just as he was beginning to enjoy retirement with my mother-in-law.
You can share your One Degree at OneDegreeProject.org. The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) and Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) will assemble them all in a massive petition asking Congress to increase cancer research funding by $1 billion over the next two years.
The nearly 15 million cancer survivors living in this country today owe their lives to innovations and advances in the detection and treatment of the disease. However, an estimated 1.7 million cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year, and the disease will kill nearly 590,000 people nationwide – or about one person every minute of every day.
Cancer hits hard. It changed my life forever and I need your help to fight back. Together, let's ask Congress to boost cancer research and save lives.
