Okmulgee County property owners are facing a tax deadline.
Vonna Lampkins, county treasurer, said March 31 is the final day to pay the last half of their ad valorem taxes.
"After that date, there will be a penalty of 1.5 percent per month assessed on the unpaid balance," she said.
Tax payers who did not pay the first half of their taxes at the end of December will owe the full amount as well as the 1.5 percent penalty each month from January until it is paid.
"If someone has a question over their taxes, they can call my office at 918-756-3848 and we will get them the full amount. Any tax payment that does not include the penalties will be returned."
Anyone needing a mobile home decal or receipt should enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope and it will be mailed to them.
