An Okmulgee County woman was arrested Monday after a six-hour standoff south of Henryetta.
According to Okmulgee County Undersheriff Fred McGuire, jr., deputies were called to a home near Loblolly Road. When they arrived, a woman was said to have barricaded herself in the house. Several shots were fired from the home prompting activation of the County Special Operations Team (SOT).
Comprised of deputies, officers from both the Henryetta and Okmulgee police departments and State Police, the team surrounded the home.
The Undersheriff said during the standoff, around a dozen shots were fired toward the SOT. Several of those shots went through a solid wall.
The officers were able to coax Monique Hawkins out of the house and arrested her. She was booked into the Okmulgee County jail on complaints of shooting with intent to kill, obstruction of officers and resisting arrest.
No officers were injured by the gunfire and none of the Special Operations Team discharged their weapons.
