Outgoing Henryetta city councilmen Audie Cole and Denny Hold were singled out for their dedication to the town Tuesday night.
The March meeting was the last for both men with their replacements to be announced following the city elections April 7.
Mayor Bill Goodner presented each with a plaque recognizing them for their participation on the council.
He pointed out Cole was one of the first to, "recognize problems with the water plant," and praised him for his efforts to obtain the armory building for the city. "Without his involvement, it is doubtful we would get the armory for the fire department." Cole was also said to be instrumental in the Christmas candy fundraising effort.
Hold was named to the council two years ago replacing Mickey Dombek who resigned his position.
"He saw the need for more downtown parking and pushed for angle parking," said Goodner. "He was an advocate for a gun range for the public and he and his wife prepared the city float for the Christmas parade."
During the meeting, Goodner said he would be stepping down as mayor after this meeting.
"It was an honor and privilege serving as mayor. I am proud of the progress in the city."
Goodner said he and his wife want to spend more time with family and friends and do some traveling.
