A Weleetka woman received head injuries in a crash on the Turner Turnpike Thursday night according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Cheryle Leeper, 74, was the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban that was hit by another car while both were going east on the turnpike near Stroud.
The OHP said Michael Lawler, 23, Kansas City, MO, was distracted by a cell phone and his car struck the Leeper vehicle. Both vehicles hit the center wall on the highway.
Leeper was treated by Chandler EMS then flown to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa. She is said to be in good condition.
